TREK ("we", "the service") is a travel-planning tool that helps you discover real places and build an itinerary by chatting with an AI agent. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, email, and Google account id | If you sign in with Google | To create your account and save your journeys |
| The messages you send the agent | When you chat | To understand your request and reply |
| Journeys you save | When you save one (signed in) | So you can return to them |
| A session cookie and an anonymous message-count cookie | Automatically | To keep you signed in and enforce the free-message limit |
| Basic server logs (IP address, request times) | Automatically | Security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting |
We do not collect payment details, and we never ask for a password — Google handles sign-in, so we never see your Google password.
To answer you, the text of your messages is sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, and — if that provider is unavailable — to our fallback provider, DeepSeek. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information in chat. Place information shown to you comes from our own corpus, built from Google Maps (via Apify), Reddit, and OpenStreetMap.
We do not sell your personal data.
Some booking links are affiliate links: if you book through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Anonymous chats are not stored by us after your session. If you have an account, your profile and saved journeys are kept until you ask us to delete them.
You can ask us to access or delete your account data at any time by contacting hello@charbel-trek.duckdns.org. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
